Eye Lash Extensions

I have been wanting to get eye lash extensions for about a year now and finally I found the right place the right extentionist and I had the cash to do it. I was so excited when I could finally do it!!! There are so many places to get them done and so many different prices that it makes it so hard to decide where to go but... I know I made the right decision.
Here are my before pictures:

Now I know I have somewhat long lashes already but for me when doing makeup applying mascara is what takes me the longest so really I just want to take that step away completely and that's what the lash extensions do.
When I reviewed what I wanted I told her I wanted them to still be pretty natural, I have a pretty almond shaped eye already so she was going to just go with that shape just bulk it up, and add some length so I won't have to apply mascara.
She said she used Large and Extra Large lashes.

Here is the after:

Where I went they charge $99-$200 for your first set and the range is depending on how dramatic you want you lashes. A fill would be $50.00. You need them filled every 2-4 weeks depending on your natural lashes and how often they fall out.

This Saturday I will have them 4 weeks and I am actually surprised by how good they still look!!! I do think I will get them filled in the next week.

This was something I really have been wanting and this is something that is well worth the money... it really has cut my time in half getting ready in the morning and on top of that when running late all you need to worry about is your face because your eyes look ready already it's awesome!
The maintenance is something I was a little bit worried about but... really it's not bad you just have to keep them free of oils, you can wear makeup as normal but when you remove it you wash around them, you brush them with just a clean mascara wand.
If you are interested in them at all or aren't sure if you could stand them maybe try wearing fake lashes... now they are completely different but... you can see and feel what it would be like!!!

Shout Out!

To the FABULOUS Ingrid Michaelson!

I went to her concert last night and it was WONDERFUL! I have always loved her from the moment I heard her song on the Old Navy commercial years ago and her music gets better and better with each album.
She has come to Salt Lake at least 2 times before this and I have not been able to go and I was not going to miss it this time.
She is wonderful live and she is so FUNNY! I strongly suggest to those of you who don't know her music to at least give her a try she is so great and you won't regret it!

Her opening act was the Guggenheim Grotto- they were AWESOME as well I am definitely going to pick up their album. I had been sampling their music on Pandora yesterday before the concert and they sounded good but... nothing like hearing them live to make you want to actually buy it :)

THANK YOU Ingrid for a wonderful night!

Everyone should indulge!

Favorites of the Day!

So... I decided that on Monday's I am going to post my latest obsessions! I am always excited about something I have: read, listened to, tried, or bought so... why not share them a little more often!

I am currently in the hunt for a new do so while in the search I have come across some lovely do's that I think are defiantly a go!!!

Long Hair:

This is a long cut with textured layers with split bangs. The color is a warm brown with carmel highlights. I love this because the layers add volume to the normal straight long cut and the highlights add extra dimension it's a fun look and just adding the layers and few highlights will make your regular look feel updated and modern.
Just a note those of you who have had bangs and have decided to grow them out the split bang is a great way to go during the process.

Medium Hair:

Ok now this cut is a bob with some curl at the bottom. But the color WOW I love this and I know it's obvious it's not for everyone but... it is GORGEOUS and so fun especially for those pale blue eyed girls! I would die for this and the combo with the bob and the color is WONDERFUL it's like the bob is retro while the red keeps it feeling modern.

Short:

I love the the pixie!!! This one particular is a bit longer and looks like it is brushed over to the one side. I really think you have to have a certain confidence to pull off a pixie but... it is a beautiful thing! I would totally have a pixie if I was daring enough!

Up do:

I love the pony especially this one! The front and top have tons of volume while the back is smooth and gently curled right into place! I love that you could wear this to work then go out as well it's a fun retro inspired look and super easy that is the key word here EASY!

In my previous post I talked about some upcoming fall makeup, one of which was a lipstick by hourglass. Well I gave in and bought it, the UPS man delivered it today, and it is LOVE!!! The color is just as described, it's a rich berry color and it went on so smoothly. The bottle is super pretty and apparently the case is refillable so I think that's exciting when I run out I can get that color again or try something new?! This was my first purchase from hourglass it was fast delivery and I am so excited to try more products from them.

I have always liked Sara Barielles but I really am looking forward to her new CD! I have only heard 2 songs from the CD: King of Anything which I really like but.. last week on Twitter she released this gem:
http://web.epicrecords.com/sarabareilles/wholefoods/
This song is AMAZING and this is the kind of music that moves me and I know that sounds so weird but I LOVE music this song makes me so excited to heard what else she has done. The 2songs I have heard are different from her previous CD and I think it is going to be so awesome. Her CD Kaleidoscope Heart is expected to come out 09/07/10. So... run out and get it when it comes out it is going to be a great one.

Quick Favorites:

One of my favorite magazines is InStyle and I love their website too it is easy access and totally keeps me up to date on what is to come and what is currently "InStyle" :)

I was reading through the website today and found some great and fun tips for what's happening in fall and what will be in.

I think the hair is AWESOME so easy and no fuss @ all I love this!!!
I love the undone Chignon I so can't do it because my hair is short but... I love the Chignon!
I love the Retro-Inspired Ponytail I think it looks BEAUTIFUL... now I am a pony girl and somehow they have made it look so elegant ahh... I love love love it!
Last you can never go wrong w/ soft, bouncy curls and I really think short or long you can pulls this look off.

So... it's no secret I LOVE makeup and seriously as I was going through each section I wanted everything I wanted @ least one thing from each section that they suggest.
But... I will just review the things I really really want from the berry lips section I want the Hourglass Femme Rouge Lipstick in Nocturnal I have been wanting to try a product from Hourglass for so long and this product may be it, I have heard a lot of great things about this brand and this particular lipstick has gotten a lot of great reviews the lipstick is 30.00 though so, that is my only dilemma that is kind of a lot for lipstick. Next I want to try Tarina Tarantino's Magic Hour Smudge Pen in Jet this goes along with the heavy black eyeliner section I think this product looks so awesome I am definitely going to try it out... super EXCITED. Last item I want to get goes along with the mixed metal eyes and I want to get the Urban Decay Naked Palette I have been wanting this for several months but... this just confirms I need it really hehe!

The Bargains You Need to Have:

This is a great link and has some fun stuff such as: Le Metier De Béaute Nail Lacquer, Living Proof Full Shampoo & Conditioner- this shampoo and conditioner looks awesome it's supposed to help fine limp hair seem more full and not look so stringy and they are only 10.00 each that is an awesome deal!!! I love a good shimmer and they showed these Target Shimmer Highlight Duo for 15.00 I may have to indulge in one of these, this looked like a great alternative to the Urban Decay pallet: Pop Beauty Naked Smolder Eyeshadow Palette for 10.00 so... it is a great deal! Just to name a few!
